GEORGE LESLIE HUNTER'S ART

I GOT PUBLISHED IN THE NEWSPAPER!
Working at Lyon&Turnbull was an amazing experience. Being able to be placed in an art auction house abroad was one of the most fulfilling and encouraging work experiences that I could have asked for. From day one, the working environment was helpful and understanding, I never felt nervous asking questions and I was quickly able to get along with all of my co-workers.
I helped out on an Antique, Fine Books and Manuscripts, Photography, and a Painting Auction Sale. I was also invited to an even at Pollock House, which was a private view gala set up in a beautiful estate in Glasgow, Scotland to show off some of the prize pieces of the upcoming Fine Silver and Jewelry, Fine Painting, and Antique sales.
The event at Pollock House was amazing. I drove down with two of my co-workers in the morning and right away we got to setting up the sale rooms in the gorgeous Pollock House, a historic estate given to the city of Glasgow.
One piece of work, a still life by George Leslie Hunter has been making headlines in many of the newspapers and in the Scottish art world, so there were some photographers on site who asked me to hold the painting while they photographed it.

I LOVED THE POLLOCK ESTATE EVENT!
I wasn't very good at pretending to smile and laugh all the time but it was fun getting published in some of the big UK newspapers the next day and in some online articles as well. After setting up and working with the press, I was given a break in the middle of the day where I got to go to the Brunnel Collection. The wide range of the museum astounded me and I absolutely loved the building designed to hold many of the prize pieces of the collection.
