CINEMA ITALIANO

Ciao! I have been busy studying for mid-term exams with past weekend, so I have not gone out to have more exciting Italian adventures, BUT I did take a short study break yesterday to watch the movie Nine.
To watch a preview for the movie Nine, CLICK HERE.

It's loosely based on Italian Director Federico Fellini's movie , which I originally watched and analyzed for my Philosophy of Film class at UofO. The movie was released in 1963 and was nominated for 18 Oscars that year, taking home 15 of them. The movie is known for its daring and obscure script interesting and unusual settings, wide variation in cinematography, and jumbled events that skip without warning back and forth between the main characters real life and subconscious.
& Nine are about Guido Contiki, an Italian director who has lost all inspiration for his upcoming movie. Aside from the fact that he can't make the film, his mistress, wife, producer, and all the rest of his friends, are pressuring him about one thing or another. So he retreats into his dreams to shelter himself from the pressure, and there, he finds inspiration to make his new film, and face the world.
Since watching the movie, I've been dancing around my room with my roommates signing "BEEEEEE ITALIAAAAAN" as loud as we can. Alright, back to studying, Ciao ciao!
